Submissions

This fall, LarkBloom is seeking short, nonfiction essays! We are looking for voices of people with disabilities or voices of the parents (or close family members) of children with disabilities.

Vivid imagery! Great stories!

I want to know what it feels like to be YOU. What’s your experience?

I want to know what you’re proud of, what you’re scared of, how you truly feel.

Yes, these are “big ideas” – but big ideas can be unpacked by telling a specific story. For example, in Rebekah Taussig’s  “My Little Pumpkin Baby,” she is saying A LOT about her experience by writing about a single event in her life. LarkBloom is not currently a paying market.

Please include several pictures if you have any. We love including pictures with our stories.

If you’re stumped think of phrases like, “How I Handle….” “5 Ways To….” “Why I’m Looking Forward To….” “Something I Never Thought I’d Say Is…”

Please include a very short author’s bio and include your social media handles if you have any.

Electronic submissions only, please include your work in the body of an email — no attachments other than photos. Submissions should be sent to raeroselarkbloom@gmail.com
